These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of EasyMinyan, a software-as-a-service application accessible at easyminyan.com and its organization-specific subdomains (for example, moriah.easyminyan.com), operated by Moriah Congregation (“EasyMinyan,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By creating an account, providing your phone number, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all individual users of the Service, including congregants and synagogue administrators. Any commercial relationship between Moriah Congregation and a participating synagogue or organization is governed by a separate agreement and is not covered by these Terms.
To use the Service, you must be at least 13 years old. If you are between 13 and 17, you represent that you are using the Service with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization (such as a synagogue), you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms in connection with your use.
The Service is intended for use within the United States.
To use the Service, you must register for an account by providing accurate information, including your name, email address, and mobile phone number. You agree to:
You may not create multiple accounts for yourself, create accounts for other people without their permission, or impersonate any person or organization.
EasyMinyan is a platform that helps synagogues and Jewish congregations manage minyan attendance, send reminders, coordinate RSVPs, and conduct related communal activities. Features may include:
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
The Service is currently provided to congregants free of charge. Congregants will never be charged for use of the Service.
Synagogues that use EasyMinyan may, in the future, be required to pay a subscription fee. Any such fees will be addressed in a separate agreement between the synagogue and Moriah Congregation, and will not affect a congregant’s free access to the Service.
Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply to SMS messages you receive. We are not responsible for those charges.
By providing your phone number when signing up, you expressly consent to receive SMS messages from EasyMinyan, including authentication codes, reminders, RSVP requests, and (where your synagogue has separately enabled and you have opted in) promotional messages. Consent to receive SMS messages is not required as a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies by your synagogue’s configuration. Message and data rates may apply.
You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. To resume, reply START. For help, reply HELP or contact info@moriahcong.org.
By providing your email address, you consent to receive transactional emails related to the Service. Certain transactional emails (such as account security notifications) cannot be disabled while your account is active.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against any user who, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms, including suspending or terminating accounts, removing content, and reporting activity to law enforcement.
You retain ownership of any information or content you submit to the Service (“Your Content”). By submitting Your Content, you grant Moriah Congregation a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, store, reproduce, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, and improving the Service.
You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of any information you submit, including the contact information of others if you have administrative access. You represent that you have the necessary rights and consents to submit any information about third parties.
The Service, including all software, design, text, graphics, logos, and other materials (excluding Your Content), is owned by Moriah Congregation or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service solely for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works of the Service or any part of it, except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and share information about you. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
The Service relies on third-party providers, including but not limited to Twilio (SMS delivery), our email service provider, Google Analytics, and our hosting infrastructure providers. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or content of third-party services, and your use of any third-party service is subject to that service’s own terms and policies.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MORIAH CONGREGATION DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY MESSAGES (INCLUDING SMS OR EMAIL) WILL BE DELIVERED SUCCESSFULLY OR ON TIME. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU SHOULD NOT RELY ON THE SERVICE FOR ANY TIME-SENSITIVE OR SAFETY-CRITICAL PURPOSE.
WE MAKE NO COMMITMENT REGARDING UPTIME OR AVAILABILITY OF THE SERVICE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL MORIAH CONGREGATION, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (WHICH FOR CONGREGANTS IS ZERO), OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Moriah Congregation, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any third-party right, or (d) any content or information you submit to the Service.
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account through the Service or by contacting info@moriahcong.org. When you delete your account, your personal information is anonymized as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, if your conduct poses a risk to the Service or other users, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, and 16–18 — will survive.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You and Moriah Congregation agree that any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Lake County, Illinois, and each party consents to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Moriah Congregation regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction, including to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Force Majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, internet or telecommunications failures, or actions of third-party providers.
No Agency. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and Moriah Congregation.
Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
