Moriah Congregation (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates EasyMinyan, a software-as-a-service application accessible at easyminyan.com and its organization-specific subdomains (for example, moriah.easyminyan.com), which synagogues use to manage minyan attendance, send reminders, and coordinate communal religious activities (the “Service”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when congregants and synagogue administrators use the Service. By using EasyMinyan, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information from congregants and administrators who use the Service:

We do not collect payment information or government-issued identifiers through the Service.

Note that each synagogue using the Service determines what information it collects from its own congregants within the limits described above. The synagogue acts as the controller of its congregants’ information, and Moriah Congregation operates the underlying platform.

4. SMS / Text Messaging

Consent and Opt-In

When you sign up for the Service and provide your mobile phone number, you expressly consent to receive SMS text messages from EasyMinyan on behalf of the synagogue you are affiliated with, including messages sent using automated technology. Consent to receive SMS messages is not required as a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply.

Types of Messages

You may receive the following categories of SMS messages:

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your synagogue’s configuration. Promotional messages, where enabled, may be sent up to several times per week.

Opt-Out

You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you reply STOP, we will send a single confirmation message and will not send any further SMS messages, except as required to complete authentication you actively initiate. To resume messages, reply START. For help, reply HELP or contact info@moriahcong.org.

Privacy of Mobile Information

No mobile information (including phone numbers and SMS opt-in data) will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of information sharing described in this Privacy Policy exclude SMS opt-in data and consent — this information will not be shared with any third parties except as strictly necessary to deliver the messages you have requested (for example, with our SMS service provider, Twilio).

5. Email Communications

We send transactional emails for account verification, reminders, RSVP requests, event notifications, and similar purposes. You can manage your email preferences in your account settings or by contacting us. Certain transactional emails (such as account security notifications) cannot be disabled while your account remains active.

6. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality and to understand how users interact with the Service. We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated usage data such as pages visited, time on site, and approximate location. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.

Do Not Track Signals.Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals. Because there is no industry standard for how to respond to DNT signals, the Service does not currently respond to or alter its behavior based on DNT signals.

7. How We Share Information

We do not share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in data with any third party for marketing purposes. Your information is used solely for our internal operations in providing the Service.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. You may delete your account at any time. When you delete your account, your personal information is anonymized and no longer associated with you. Anonymized data may be retained for analytics, security, and legal compliance purposes.

We may retain certain records for longer periods where required by law or to resolve disputes.

In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information described in the CCPA: identifiers (name, email address, phone number, IP address); customer records information (name, contact information); internet or other electronic network activity information (browsing and usage data); and, where the synagogue elects to collect it, characteristics of protected classifications (date of birth/age).

Sources of personal information.We collect personal information directly from you when you sign up for or use the Service, automatically from your device when you access the Service, and from your synagogue’s administrators.

Business purposes for collection. We use personal information for the purposes described in Section 3 of this policy.

Categories of recipients. We disclose personal information to the categories of service providers described in Section 7 of this policy.

Sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
